Services

Some common conditions or illnesses that can be treated at Bracknell Urgent Care Centre include:

• Sprains and strains
• Suspected fractures and broken limbs
• Minor head injuries
• Cuts and grazes
• Bites and stings
• Minor scalds and burns
• Ear and throat infections
• Skin infections and rashes
• Eye problems
• Coughs and colds
• Feverish illness in adults
• Feverish illness in children
• Abdominal pain
• Vomiting and diarrhoea
• Emergency contraception

 

We are unable to see patients for the following:

• Long standing medical conditions that are managed by a patient’s own GP
• Dental problems
• Sick notes/fit notes
• Repeat prescriptions
• Strong analgesia, benzodiazepines, antipsychotics, sleeping tablets or specialised medications prescribed by a consultant

What to expect

Our specialist urgent care team is here when you need help, advice and treatment for most common injuries and illnesses that are urgent but not life-threatening.

Check In – You will be asked to provide our patient navigators with information about yourself and your reason for attendance. Once completed, just take a seat and wait for your name to be called.

Assessment – You will be seen by one of our clinicians who will assess the urgency of your illness or injury. If you do not require treatment you may be given self-care advice or redirected to a more appropriate service.

Treatment – If you do require treatment you will be seen by one of our clinicians. The speed at which you will be seen, will depend on your urgent care needs.

Outcome – When you are ready to leave, you may be provided with self-care information and aftercare advice. We encourage all patients to tell us about their experience so please speak to any staff member if you wish to provide feedback.
