Jan Rimmer - Head of Primary Care Development

I am an experienced NHS manager with more than 35 years’ experience within acute, community and primary care services, I am passionate about transforming and shaping local services to meet local needs. I have experience within NHS business areas including programme management, business development, commissioning of services and associated service development. I enjoy working with teams to facilitate transformation of primary care services at both GP practice and PCN level.

I have a track record of successful design, implementation, and commissioning of new services, from development of service specifications through to contract negotiation and performance management. My NHS commissioning service responsibilities included contract management and performance development cycles. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience of working with a variety of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders, I have an in-depth understanding of systems and processes within Primary Care.

Taking a hands-on approach to my work, my operational management experience within primary care helps to drive progress and traction across practice and PCNs. I relish opportunities to lead GP resilience projects, working collaboratively with teams requiring support and improvement in process management systems following regulatory inspections.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughters and our cocker spaniel, I also enjoy travelling, eating out with friends and family and love a pub quiz!
